OverviewOne of the skill specializations that you must choose is the primary trade skill for your character (on page 3 of the .spec menu). You may also use some or all of your primary skill slots for other trade skills, but the 'trade specialization' will be recognized as your primary trade skill. There are currently 10 trade skills (those with the green dots on the .spec menu). Click on a trade skill for a description:
AutoloopWith most skills, when you make something from a crafting menu you will be asked if you want to autoloop. If you choose 'yes', you will continue making the same item until you no longer have enough supplies. If you choose 'no', you will only make one item. Similarly if you are mining, lumberjacking or fishing you will continue to work the same spot until there are no more materials left in that spot to harvest. Vendor JobsIf you go up to an NPC Vendor and say 'Job', there is a good chance that vendor will ask you to use your specialized trade skill to do some work for them. If you accept the order, you will automatically begin crafting items (the vendor supplies the necessary resources, you don't need any) and placing them in a white bag. While creating the items, you must stay within a few tiles of the vendor or you will stop and not be able to finish the order. Once finished, simply drop the bag on the vendor and he will pay you per item, with the amount of gold based on your skill. The actual amount of gold per item is calculated by dividing your trade skill by 5 and rounding down to the nearest gold piece. You can earn up to around 2500 gold per day doing work for npc vendors. After that, they will ask you to come back tomorrow. One other possibility is that the vendor will have no work left for you at the moment. In that case, they will tell you that they don't have any work for you right now. If that is the case you haven't reached your limit yet, but you need to try another vendor because the one you are talking to doesn't need anything at the moment. If you have trade skills placed in primary slots, vendors will give you jobs for those skills instead of the trade slot skill. Keep this in mind when setting up your skills. MasterpiecesCrafters will now have a chance at crafting a "Masterpiece". The chance at making one is based on the difficulty of the item, and will happen fairly rarely, even for the easier to make items. There is nothing special that must be done, the check is made during normal crafting. If you pass the check, you will be presented with a gump stating you have created a Master piece and asking you to name it. Masterpieces can be named by their creator. You may give it any name you wish, and [Masterpiece] will be put on the end by the scripts. So, for example, you can make some katanas, and one comes up a Masterpiece. You can enter a name like SwiftSlayer, and you will now have a katana named SwiftSlayer [Masterpiece]. Master pieces that are weapons or armor also receive a random bonus. If it's a weapon, it will receive either a random durability bonus or a random damage bonus. It does not tell you which, nor the level of the bonus, which is random as well. Nor will you ever we able to find out the values. They are inherent, and not magical, bonuses. If it's a piece of armor, it will receive either a durability bonus or an AR bonus. Alchemy masterpieces are a bit different than the previous Master pieces in that their graphic is totally different than the original potion your were trying to concoct. This had to be done because of stack-ability issues. You may name them whatever you like, just as with all Masterpieces. When a masterpiece potion is used, it does a random sparkly effect to the person who drinks it and plays a random magic sound. Cooking Masterpieces also exist. As with the Alchemy ones, they are different than the standard. Their graphic is all the same. When a person eats a cooked Masterpiece, they do some anims and an emote will appear over the persons head. When you use a Masterpiece scroll, it will make you perform random animations, will spout random power words above your head and will play a random sparkly and random sound on whatever you target. |
