I suggest adding a new feature on the blacksmith and tailor npc that for a nominal fee (1k?) They will check all the items you are currently wearing and tell you their repair status, possibly even make a suggestion whether to repair the item now or not (could help new players).

Or have the same functionality as the henchman. Go to perform an item check, target yourself, obtain a full list of items with their current condition. The description is usually enough to determine if it needs a repair.
Not that I'm lazy or anything...

That would work too lol, taking off every piece is checking them individually is a pain haha
