Issues Launching Val

When I try to launch val i get an error code that says "failed to open 'soundidx.mul' from HD

Hi
try running the valhalla client from the directory where you installed it and run it in admin mode.

I'm also having this problem, and tried running it from directory in admin mode, that did not work either.

Have you tried running in compatibility mode?

Worse case uninstall and download the Mondains Legacy files for a fresh install.
Or just a fresh install to a new directory, then add the Val files.
Think I had to do that at some stage as well.

This is a fresh install. Had to get a whole new computer.

Did you use the Mondains Legacy install?
Compatibility mode, send the Val client to the desktop as a shortcut, right click the shortcut on the desktop, select properties, choose the Compatibility Tab, pick an OS to try running it in (probably XP or Windows 7), you can also select Run as Administrator at the bottom.

Hmmmm, don't remember if it was Mondains Legacy or not. Probably not. Downloaded it from the UO website, so whatever their newest version is, probably.
